How to Use Comment-to-FAQ Generator (1970 Guide)

Paste your top comments and auto-generate a pinned FAQ reply or a follow-up video script.

When the same question appears twenty times under a video, three things are true: the video left a gap, viewers want a follow-up, and a pinned answer would save you forty replies. The Comment-to-FAQ Generator extracts the top ten questions from a batch of comments, formats a pinned FAQ reply, proposes the follow-up video title, and writes a short answer you can paste in the description.

This guide covers what to paste, how the FAQ reply is structured, and when a question deserves a whole video rather than a pinned answer.

What to paste

Fifty or more comments from one video, or the questions from your last few. Include duplicates — frequency is how the generator ranks. It groups paraphrases of the same question together ("does this work for pour-over?" and "pour over ok with this grinder?") and orders by count.

The pinned FAQ reply

A short intro line, then the top five to seven questions with one- or two-line answers, then a pointer to the follow-up video if there is one. It is formatted to be readable in the YouTube comment box — short lines, no markdown. Pinning it within the first day cuts repeat questions dramatically and lifts the thread.

Pinned answer or full video?

If a question can be answered in two lines, pin it. If the top question has more than about 10% of all comments behind it and needs demonstration, it is a video — and the suggested title is the search-friendly version of the viewers' own phrasing. The short-form description answer covers the middle ground for the description box.

Tips

  • Paste from more than one video on the same topic; recurring cross-video questions are the strongest follow-up signals.
  • Reply to the top question in the video's first 30 seconds of the follow-up: "you all asked whether…".
  • Update the pinned FAQ when the follow-up goes live.

Common mistakes

  • Answering every question in the pin — Seven maximum; the rest go in the follow-up.
  • Ignoring the phrasing — Viewers' words are the search terms for the follow-up title.
  • Pinning a week later — Most of the repeat questions have already been asked.

Worked example

Input: 160 comments from a budget grinder comparison.

What the report returned: Top questions: pour-over compatibility (19), grind settings for the winner (14), durability (11), vs a specific competitor (9)… Pinned FAQ with 6 answers. Follow-up title: "Does the $40 Grinder Work for Pour-Over? I Tested It". Description answer: 2 sentences.

Frequently asked questions

How many comments do I need?

Fifty is enough to see a pattern; more is better.

Can it use competitor comments?

Yes — their unanswered questions are your video ideas.

Does it format for the description too?

Yes — a short answer paragraph for the description box is included.

Is this different from the Comment Sentiment Analyzer?

Sentiment gives the emotional breakdown and health score. This focuses on turning questions into a pinned FAQ and a follow-up.
